The Broad Peak Climbing Expedition is a classic 8,000-meter mountaineering challenge in the heart of the Karakoram Range. Standing at 8,051 meters, Broad Peak is considered one of the more attainable 8000ers, yet it demands excellent physical conditioning, high-altitude experience, and technical competence. This 50-day expedition follows the legendary Baltoro Glacier route, passing through iconic camps such as Paiju, Urdukas, Concordia, and finally reaching Broad Peak Base Camp. Guided by experienced high-altitude professionals, the expedition is designed for climbers aiming to safely summit one of the world’s great peaks while experiencing the raw grandeur of the Karakoram.
The Broad Peak Climbing Expedition offers mountaineers the chance to summit the 12th highest mountain in the world. Standing at 8,051 meters, Broad Peak is part of the legendary Gasherbrum massif and sits directly across the Godwin-Austen Glacier from K2.
Named for its massive summit ridge, which spans over 1.5 kilometers, the Broad Peak climbing expedition is widely regarded as one of the more “attainable” 8,000m summits in the Karakoram. Its standard route via the West Ridge is relatively straightforward compared to the technical faces of K2 or Nanga Parbat, making it a popular objective for those looking to build 8,000m experience. Our 2026 expedition provides comprehensive logistics, from the trek through Concordia to full high-altitude support, ensuring a safe and professionally managed summit attempt. Also check out our Gasherbrum I and Gasherbrum II expeditions for a slightly challenging expedition.
Broad Peak is generally classified as a non-technical 8,000m peak, but it requires extreme physical endurance and mental resilience.
The route primarily consists of snow and ice slopes (35–45 degrees). The main challenge is the Summit Plateau; many climbers reach the “Rocky Summit” but struggle to traverse the long, exposed ridge to the true “Main Summit.” Our guides focus on ensuring you have the energy and time to complete this final, crucial section.
The 50-day Broad Peak climbing expedition schedule allows for three rotations to Camp 2 and 3, ensuring your body is fully acclimatized for the final push.

Yes, our standard Broad Peak climbing expedition includes 3 bottles of supplemental oxygen per climber, along with high-flow regulators and masks for use during the summit push from Camp 3.
The Rocky Summit (8,028m) is the end of the climbing face, but the true Main Summit (8,051m) is located further along the ridge. We ensure our teams have the logistical support to navigate the ridge and reach the true highest point.
While Broad Peak is often a climber’s first 8,000m peak, we strongly recommend having summited a 7,000m peak (such as Spantik) or having extensive experience on technical 6,000m peaks.
We are local experts with deep roots in the Baltistan climbing community. We provide the most reliable porter ratios, high-quality high-altitude food, and a 24/7 emergency response team based in Skardu.

Thrilling expedition! Baltoro Glacier was mesmerizing, and the summit push was intense but rewarding.
