Cancellation & Refund Policy

At Karakoram Treks, we understand that travel plans can change. Our cancellation and refund policy is designed to be transparent, fair, and flexible, while accounting for the logistical and operational commitments required to organize treks, expeditions, and tours in remote regions.

1. Advance Deposit

  1. A 20% advance deposit is required to confirm any booking.

  2. The deposit allows us to secure permits, accommodation, transport, and other essential services.

2. Cancellation by the Client

  1. Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email or official communication channels.

  2. The effective cancellation date is the date we receive the written request.

3. Refund Eligibility

  1. The advance deposit is refundable if cancellation is made at least two (2) months before the scheduled trip start date.

  2. Cancellations made less than two months prior to departure may not be eligible for a deposit refund due to non-recoverable expenses.

4. Deposit Validity

  1. If a refund is not requested, the paid deposit will remain valid for up to three (3) years.

  2. The deposit may be applied toward any future trek, expedition, or tour offered by Karakoram Treks, subject to availability and price adjustments.

5. Non-Refundable Costs

  1. Certain services such as permits, hotel bookings, domestic flights, transport, or third-party arrangements may become non-refundable once issued or confirmed.

  2. These costs, if already incurred, will be deducted from any applicable refund.

6. Cancellation After Arrival or No-Show

  1. No refunds will be issued for cancellations after arrival, early departures, or failure to join the trip (no-show).

  2. Unused services during the trip are non-refundable.

7. Changes or Cancellations by Karakoram Treks

  1. Karakoram Treks reserves the right to modify or cancel trips due to safety concerns, weather conditions, political situations, or other factors beyond our control.

  2. In such cases, clients may be offered an alternative trip, rescheduling, or credit toward a future departure.

8. Refund Processing

  1. Approved refunds will be processed through the original payment method where possible.

  2. Processing times may vary depending on banking procedures and international transfers.

9. Travel Insurance

  1. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, medical emergencies, evacuation, and unforeseen circumstances.

10. Agreement to Policy

  1. By confirming a booking with Karakoram Treks, clients acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to this Cancellation & Refund Policy.
